Mobile optimized grid enhancements

Grid (table) layouts optimized for mobile support conditional visibility layout, row, and cell content. You can configure visibility as a client-run expression for use offline, or use a when rule or server-run expressions for desktop and mobile applications. Conditional visibility allows applications to use the template-based rendering. The UI Gallery includes an example of such a grid.

Create simple URLs for work objects

You can now represent your work objects with simple URLs by using the new URL Mappings rule. Simple URLs are meaningful and easy to share with others, and improve collaboration between users of the same Pega^® Platform application. You can define different URL patterns to use in your application for your work objects (cases), reports, landing pages, or others. You can also generate canonical URLs for your case types to make all instances of these case types searchable by third-party search engines. To enable search engine indexing, a link tag is added to your case object harness.

Enhanced activity feed for Pulse displays messages

The activity feed for Pulse has been enhanced to display replies to messages that you have posted, messages on cases that you are following, messages in which you are referenced, messages posted on your user profile, messages by users that you are following, and messages that you have bookmarked. You can filter the activity feed to display the messages that you want to view.

Adjust styling for UI elements with standard CSS helper classes

Rather than creating a new skin format to make minor formatting changes to a user interface element, click the Open helper class picker icon on the Presentation tab of the Properties panel and select a predefined Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) helper class to apply to the element. For example, you can use a CSS helper class to center an element in a cell or layout. Using helper classes saves development time, reduces maintenance by limiting the number of customized skin formats, and improves the consistency of your application's look and feel. By avoiding the introduction of unnecessary static content, you also improve your application's initial loading time.

Preview and select icons with the icon class picker

To see the standard, predefined icons that are available for a Button, Link, or Icon control, use the Open the icon class picker icon on the General tab of the Properties panel. From an overlay of icons, you can then select the one that is most appropriate for your control. By using a predefined icon, you bring greater consistency to your user interface and help users more easily understand the purpose of each control.

Define property value criteria for stage entry

You can now define the criteria that property values must meet to enter a stage, by clicking Validations on the Data model tab of a case type. By validating the properties, you can ensure that a case contains relevant data before it enters a stage.

Question template added to surveys

You can now import a question template to create multiple questions at once. By providing question data in a format that your application processes in bulk, you can speed up the development of your surveys.

Update activity for button and link formats

To update existing Button controls or Link controls to current, simplified formats (Strong, Standard, and Simple), use the pzUpdateButtonLinkFormats activity. Using the report definition and other parameters that you specify, the system retrieves the sections to be converted, loops through each section rule to find Button controls and Link controls, and updates their formats.

Changes to User Interface menu in Designer Studio

The User Interface menu in Designer Studio has changed. For example, menu options related to localization are now grouped under Application readiness.

Drag-and-drop functionality for lists and tables

Lists and optimized tables now support the reorganization of their content by reordering items. By configuring repeating dynamic layouts and tables to support drag-and-drop modifications, you enable users to move items between lists and within lists and tables. This enhancement ensures that you can create a flexible and dynamic user interface that helps users display and manage data.

The drag-and-drop functionality can also include custom actions that automate the processes that run when users move items.
