Data page unit test case setup and cleanup

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now use one or more data pages, data transforms, or activities to set up a clipboard page with the appropriate properties before you run a data page unit test case. You can also use activities to create any required test data, such as work or data objects.

After you run a data page unit test case, the data pages that were used to set up the test environment are automatically removed. You can now also apply additional data transforms or activities to clean up the clipboard.

For more information, see Setup and cleanup of data page unit test cases.

New assertions for data page unit test cases

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now configure the following assertions for data page unit test cases:

  • Result count assertions for page lists, page groups, value lists, and value groups
  • Unordered list and ordered list assertions for page lists

The Pega 7 Platform now supports these assertions in addition to expected run-time assertions for the data page and property assertions for any property type.

For more information, see Data page unit test case assertions.

Design templates in Pega Express

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now use design templates to control the layout of form fields in Pega Express. Use the form builder Layouts tab to select a layout for the form and organize the fields in the layout regions.

For more information, see Adding a design template to a form in Pega Express.

Execute Tests service to run all data page unit test cases

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now use the Execute Tests service to run a set of tests at the end of build runs. An external validation engine, such as Jenkins, calls the service, which runs all data page unit test cases in your application, and returns the results in XUnit format. Use this service to validate the data in your application and to correct any issues before you deploy your application.

For more information, see Running all data page unit test cases with the Execute Tests service.

Configure additional email accounts for Pulse notifications

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now configure individual email accounts for each application for which you want to send Pulse email notifications. For example, you can configure a specific email account to send Pulse notifications for an HR Services application, a Release Management application, and so on.

For more information, see Configuring Pulse notifications on additional email accounts

Enhancements to email approvals in a case

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

The following enhancements have been made to email approvals in a case:

  • In Designer Studio, you can quickly access the correspondence rule to customize the email template by clicking the Configure email template link on an approval step.
  • In Designer Studio, you can add or remove the fields that are displayed in the approval email by customizing the associated Review view.
  • In Case Designer, you can now quickly enable email approval when you click an approval step and route it to another user without having to switch to Process Modeler if you are working Designer Studio or switching to Designer Studio if you are working in express mode.
  • Recipients of email approvals can quickly open cases by clicking the links to the related cases that are provided in the emails.

For more information, see Email approval enhancements in a case type.

Approval emails now contain links to cases

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

Emails that you receive to reject or accept a task in a case now contain a link to the case. You can click this link to quickly open a case for which you receive approval emails.

Quick and customized data imports

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now quickly add, update, or delete data records for your data types by uploading .csv files that contain a large number of records. The bulk import process allows you to import data from a variety of sources and gives you more control over your data. You can customize this process by overriding a data transform to add purposes, a section to add fields, and an activity to define the logic for each purpose.

For more information, see Data import customization.

Email approval and instantiation not supported on multitenant systems

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

The Enable email approval check box appears on the General tab of an approval step in Case Designer in multitenant systems. It also appears on the Approval shape in Designer Studio. In addition, in Designer Studio, the Settings tab in Case Designer displays the option to configure email instantiation. However, because configuring email listeners is not supported on multitenant systems, you cannot enable email approval or email instantiation.

Text area field supports rich text

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now configure a text area field on a form to collect plain or rich text from users at run time. By customizing the way that users provide information, you can create cases that display data in different formats and styles.

For more information about the supported options for text area fields, see:
