New integration system resource

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now define integration systems that you can use when you create data pages, integration connectors, and databases. Integration systems are associated with an icon that is displayed on the Integration Designer so that you can quickly view the systems that are used by your data types. This information is useful for assessing the effect of migrating to a new system of record and for understanding your data model.

For more information, see Creating an integration system.

Define participants for case types

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now configure participants more easily for case types. By defining case participants, you can indicate their relationship with a case and share important case updates with them. You can update case participants at run time, route assignments and approvals to them, and send notifications to them when goals and deadlines are not met.

For more information, see Participant configuration for case types.

Data view management added to Data Designer

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now manage data views, called data pages in Dev Studio, in the Data Designer in App Studio. You can change a data view's data source without switching to Dev Studio. You can create a JSON mapping using a visual, drag-and-drop mapper.

For more information, see Data view management.

View data type relationships in Data Designer

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now access a visual depiction of the relationships among data types from the Data Designer in App Studio. By understanding how data types depend on properties and other data types, you can extend your data model more quickly.

For more information, see Viewing data relationships.

Post private messages in Pulse

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now post messages in Pulse to initiate conversations with selected users within a context. By posting private messages, you can discuss specific topics with relevant users without broadcasting them to all users.

For more information, see:

Manage and visualize application data with the Integration Designer

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

Use the Integration Designer to manage data at the application level and to access a comprehensive view of all data objects in your application with their associated data. Additionally, from the Integration Designer, you can create data objects and map them to other objects and to systems of record.

For more information, see Managing application data with the Integration Designer.

Reference spaces and documents in Pulse

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now reference spaces and documents when you post Pulse messages. By including a link in your Pulse message that opens a relevant space or application document, you can add context to a conversation.

For more information, see:

Add comments to feed source messages

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

Users can now post comments on messages from feed sources in their activity feed. By adding comments to these types of messages, users can discuss topics from internal or external data sources, for example, Twitter updates on their organization. You can configure a feed source to allow comments on messages from the source.

For more information, see Adding a feed source for the activity feed.

Create and map data types in Integration Designer

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

Use the data type wizard in the Integration Designer to create data types and map them to systems of record. The data type wizard reduces complexity when creating and mapping data objects, resulting in reduced development time and a simpler workflow.

For more information, see Mapping fields.

View mini user profiles in Pulse

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now view mini profiles of users who post messages and users who are referenced in Pulse, by clicking the name of the user. A mini profile contains the user's job title, reporting manager, organization, and links to call and send email to the user. By seeing a brief overview of a user profile, you can access important information about users and contact them more quickly.
