Decision Management

This release contains a number of fixes that improve the configuration and execution of Batch decisions – specifically, a number of usability improvements and addresses some issues when creating strategies on IE8.  

• Batch Decision functionality has been enhanced in the NBAM environment.
• In NBAM, users can run the strategy execution batch based on the Seed list class instead of the customer class. 
• Interaction data will now work even if Action or Organization  dimensions do not have values set.
• Running a strategy which includes a Data Import of a structured page reference will work in batch mode.
• Security was enhanced on the VBD Planner.
• The Access of Role to Object rules have been enhanced to allow users to create new Dimension Operator records.
• The NBAM Segment On Canvas will now fetch the SegMap data, even when the generated extended segment class has not been added to the Pages and Classes of the strategy.  The SegMap property will (if it exists) be added to a list of properties to fetch, even if the strategy indicates that it is not used.
• When a strategy is defined on a customer class, users may now specify the list of required properties to fetch for the input definition.
• When creating a new strategy, there is now a section to add a Strategy Results class like Business Issue or Group.

Integration

Critical customer-driven product improvements were made to SOAP services, SOAP connectors and connector wizard, CMIS connectors, and the Pega Image Viewer. These fixes addressed a handful of functionality gaps discovered in PRPC 7.1 and earlier releases by internal and external customers.

• A Connect-CMIS instance which was created using a reference to an ATOM Server Instance may now use Global Resource Settings.
• The Execute Synchronously (one-way operation) has been enhanced for SOAP Services.
• The Silverlight version of PegaImageViewer has been enhanced to print ranges of multiple pages at once.
• The SOAP Wizard has been improved to show all the ports which are available in the WSDL file.
• Two way SSL has been enhanced for the Connect-REST rule.

Apply logic to data import fields

When importing data from an external system, you can translate data fields into values that can be read by Pega^® Platform. From the Import wizard, you can do the following actions:

• Apply a decision tree or decision table to the data that is imported for a field.
• Use imported data for a field to look up a value in another record. For example, you can look up the key of a record that uses an external identifier to populate a foreign key field.
• Create templates that contain business logic, which eliminates the need to handle data transformations manually during preprocessing.

Expose properties in Decision Data Store

You can now expose properties in Cassandra-based Decision Data Store data sets. With this solution, you can update single properties in extended customer analytic records (XCAR) without having to update the full customer record.

Enhancements to bulk editing options for unversioned propositions

Bulk editing options for unversioned propositions have been enhanced to allow the use of Excel for editing. You can export and import unversioned propositions into Excel by using the Import wizard. Additionally, data types replace decision tables as the new storage format for unversioned propositions.

Reuse existing propositions across applications

You can reuse existing propositions from built-on applications by using a new wizard to copy proposition groups across applications. This wizard gives you more options and flexibility when you define the business hierarchy in your application.

Migrate DDS data across various schema versions

You can use multiple versions of a single Decision Data Store (DDS) data set type in different applications that run on the same Pega^® Platform instance and efficiently move data across those versions even if the underlying data schema is different. This solution improves the data management process and simplifies the reuse of existing data.

Support for PMML version 4.3 in predictive models

You can now leverage predictive models in the Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML) version 4.3 by importing them into predictive models on Pega^® Platform. Pega Platform utilizes a large part of the PMML standard with the exception of some PMML 4.3 features that are not supported in the Predictive Model rule.

Emit remaining event strategy data at the end of a data flow run

Data flows have been updated to prevent data loss in event strategies. By default, when a batch or a real-time data flow stops and it contains an event strategy with Tumbling windows, all of the events that are in the Tumbling windows are emitted. Event emission triggers further processing in the event strategy, like aggregations and joins.

Ability to map JSON to clipboard properties by using a data transform

You can now map the entire JSON file or individual properties to and from the clipboard by using a data transform. Using a data transform makes it faster and easier to connect your Pega^® Platform to your system of record.
