Building a Pega Mobile Client with custom modules

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.9

When you build a Pega Mobile Client mobile app using the Pega 7 Platform, you can now include Android or iOS custom modules. The custom modules must be included in the assets.zip file that contains the Pega Mobile Client branding and customization details.

OAuth 2 token support in Pega Mobile Client

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

The Client Store module in Pega Mobile Client has been extended to support OAuth 2 tokens. The tokens are used to authorize data synchronization requests that are sent to the Pega® Platform. Once the OAuth 2 token support is turned on and configured on the server, Pega Mobile Client starts using it automatically. This functionality is available on both iOS and Android devices.

Enhanced Pega Infinity Mobile Client

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

With the new Pega Infinity Mobile Client you now can build online apps that launch quickly, provide instantaneous navigation, and immediately react to user input. Pega Infinity Mobile Client uses native components for faster navigation between the screens of your custom mobile app; every tab opens in a separate webview, which accelerates switching between the tabs. Pega Infinity Mobile Client protects your sensitive information through safe and convenient single sign-on authentication and additional locking mechanisms.

Troubleshooting Pega Mobile Client on the login screen

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.9

An offline mobile developer can now troubleshoot issues that are not related to incorrect credentials when signing in to the Pega Mobile Client app. On the app login screen, an alert box displays where the user can click a link to examine current log files to troubleshoot the issue. The contents of the displayed log file can be filtered.

New Pega Mobile Client debugging options

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.9

The Mobile tab on the Application form contains two new options: a check box for enabling debugging in the Pega Mobile Client app, and a drop-down field for setting the log level to one of the following levels: Silent, Error, Warning, Info, or Debug.

Support for Pega Infinity Mobile Client in offline-enabled applications

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

To take advantage of Pega Platform™ offline features, you can now build offline-enabled applications using Pega Infinity Mobile Client™. An offline-enabled application is built with Pega Infinity Mobile Client by default, and is fast to create and load.

Support for controlling binary file upload in Pega Mobile Client

Valid from Pega Version 7.4

The Client Store API of Pega® Mobile Client has been modified so that you can suspend and resume the process of uploading binary files to the server. You can also check the state of the file uploading process. As a result, custom mobile app users can process their work items without having to wait for the synchronization process to finish.

Ability to support advanced device features with Pega Infinity Mobile Client

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

Pega Infinity Mobile Client™ now provides a development kit that you can use to make mobile apps support advanced device features that are typically available to native applications, for example, an embedded laser scanner or a projector module, and integrate functions of external software solutions, for example, a cloud-based file storage.

PEGA0107 alert enables performance monitoring of offline-enabled apps

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

You can now monitor the performance of offline-enabled apps by analyzing PEGA0107 alerts from Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud™. PEGA0107 alerts are equivalent to PEGA0069 alerts in the context of offline-enabled applications, but PEGA0069 alerts are not generated for offline-enabled applications.

Low-code authoring of case pages

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

Mobile authoring for Cosmos React applications now supports the configuration of native mobile pages that include case details. Your mobile channel automatically generates these pages for each case type in your application. This enhancement improves the user experience in your app by providing users with native pages that you can adjust to best suit your business process. For example, you can highlight specific views on a page by modifying which tabs appear on the page, or add a floating action button to help your users edit the case.

In Pega Platform™ version 8.6, mobile features in Cosmos React applications are available only as a preview, with limited support for various interface elements and features, such as offline mode. The recommended production design system for Pega Mobile in Pega Platform 8.6 is Theme Cosmos.
