Actionable error message in integration wizards

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.5

Improvements have been made to the integration wizards for SOAP, SAP, and .NET that enhance the user experience by providing clearer, actionable error messages when there are problems with WSDL uploads; letting you edit the endpoint while creating or testing the integration; clarifying how the data source class layer is reused and removing confusing terms; and adding an option in Tracer to view SOAP messages generated or received by integrations.

Identify team members working on a rule

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

By using the team collaboration widget, you can see who on your development team is working on the rule that you are viewing. This widget is displayed in the section header when you are using the Case Designer, Data Designer, or Channels and interfaces configuration pages. When you update a page, a notification is sent to other collaborators stating that the content has been updated and prompting them to refresh to see the latest content.

New Pulse gadget for users

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

You can use Pulse to communicate and collaborate with other users. For example, in Pulse you can post messages, share files, select cases for which you want to receive emails, search for content, and view an activity feed in your dashboard that aggregates your Pulse posts.

For more information, see Pulse for social collaboration.

Node classification

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

By using the node classification feature, which segregates nodes by their purpose, you can now configure one node with multiple node types. When you start a node with multiple node types, the node runs a set of agents and listeners that are associated with the specified node types. From the Node Classification landing page, you can view and configure the agents associated with node types, view listeners associated with node types, and open Agent rule forms, agent schedules, and Listener rule forms.

For more information, see Node Classification, Configuring node types for agents and listener and Node classification.

Device preview includes a configurable list of common mobile devices

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

Pega Express device preview displays your application in a simulated mobile device. By previewing your application, you can view the user experience on a desktop, tablet, or phone. You can select from a list of common devices or add devices to the list by editing Pega-DevicePreview-Device.

For more information, see Previewing an application on a mobile device.

Security landing pages and features require privileges

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

Security-related landing pages and features are no longer visible and accessible to every user. To view and configure the following security features, you must have the appropriate privileges:

  • Attribute-based access control (ABAC) policies require the pzCanManageSecurityPolicies privilege.
  • The Authentication Services landing page requires the pzCanCreateAuthService privilege.

Application overview added to App Studio

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

High-level information about an application, such as the available channel interfaces, case types, and data types, is now available in App Studio. By monitoring your project from a holistic point of view, you can make informed decisions about how and where you want to allocate your development resources.

For more information, see Application overview.

Enhanced data flow performance monitoring

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

The performance alert log now provides more detailed information about the data flows in your application. You can view performance details for data flows that are currently running and data flow runs that have completed successfully. You can also view a performance summary for data flow runs that are running for too long or have failed.

For more information, see:

Explore the relationships between data types with the Data Visualizer

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

The Data Visualizer, new in Pega 7.1.7, provides a graphical display of the relationships among your application's data types and class types. The map view can help clarify how your application's data works together. When you hover the mouse pointer over an entity in the display, the Data Visualizer highlights the entities with which that entity has a direct relationship.

For more information, see About the Data Visualizer.

Reusable components in Form Builder

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.9

You can reuse an existing form or data reference when creating a form. By referencing the existing fields in your application, you save time and build forms that are easier to maintain. Refer to the Reuse fields panel in Form Builder to view all of the fields, forms, and data references in your application.

For more information, see Reuse fields panel in Form Builder.
