Custom domain names in Pega Cloud

Valid from Pega Version Pega Cloud

For your applications hosted on Pega® Cloud, you can use a custom domain name that conforms to your enterprise standards. By using a custom domain name, users of your Pega Cloud-hosted applications see domain names that are familiar to them.

For more information, see Requesting a custom domain name for applications hosted on Pega Cloud.

This functionality is available as of QII 2017.

Enhanced Pega Infinity Mobile Client

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

With the new Pega Infinity Mobile Client you now can build online apps that launch quickly, provide instantaneous navigation, and immediately react to user input. Pega Infinity Mobile Client uses native components for faster navigation between the screens of your custom mobile app; every tab opens in a separate webview, which accelerates switching between the tabs. Pega Infinity Mobile Client protects your sensitive information through safe and convenient single sign-on authentication and additional locking mechanisms.

For more information, see Pega Mobility and mobile clients.

Changes to Pega alerts that are related to Decision Data Store

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

The PEGA0085 alert informs users about insufficient disk space allocated for the Cassandra database. The PEGA0074 alert has been deprecated, and the PEGA0075 alert has been renamed and modified to include settings from the PEGA0074 alert.

For more information, see PEGA0074 alert, PEGA0075 alert, and PEGA0085 alert.

Case archiving enhancements in Pega Cloud Services

To provide a more complete archiving solution to Pega Cloud clients, we have introduced several enhancements to the archival functionality for your Pega Platform database. This includes support for your data retention policy to expunge (permanently delete) archived data from Pega Cloud File Storage.

Permanently delete case data with data retention policy

In previous versions, Pega Cloud clients could archive resolved cases and associated data from the Pega database to Pega Cloud File Storage after the cases have been resolved for a specified number of days with an archival policy. Now, clients can permanently delete archived data from Pega Cloud File Storage after the cases have been resolved for a specified number of days with a data retention policy.

Faster adoption with testing mode

Clients can now enable a testing mode and specify archival policies in minutes instead of days. Now you create and resolve cases, then run archiving process immediately to test the functionality within minutes.

Easier adoptions with enhanced monitoring capabilities

With the addition of the Log-ArchivalSummary class and its associated log files, clients can monitor their archival jobs in a single view. We have also improved logging for archival jobs, offering you greater insight into the success of your archival process.

To learn more about archiving and purging your case data in your Pega Cloud environment, see Improving performance by archiving cases.

Pega Digital Experience API for creating consumer-grade interfaces

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can use front-end frameworks such as React and Angular to create a user interface that is backed by the powerful business logic of Pega Platform™. The updated Pega Digital Experience API leverages the OpenAPI Specification to enable Pega Platform to work with the front-end framework of your choice.

Pega Cloud Services support for the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region

Pega Cloud Services now supports deployment to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. Deployment across multiple availability zones within a geographical region protects against zone faults and localized service disruptions, and ensures high availability.

For more information about regions and availability zones, see Pega Cloud Services capabilities.

Internet Application Composer (IAC) renamed to Pega Web Mashup

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.9

The name of Internet Application Composer (IAC) has changed to Pega Web Mashup.

For more information, see Pega web mashups for embedding Pega Platform UI in external web pages.

Use Kinesis data sets in Pega Decision Management

Valid from Pega Version 7.4

You can create Kinesis data set instances to connect to Amazon Kinesis Data Streams and use this data set in decision management for processing real-time streaming data. Integrating Kinesis data streams into Pega® Platform in the cloud provides a fault-tolerant and scalable solution for processing IT infrastructure log data, application logs, social media, market data feeds, and web clickstream data.

For more information, see Creating a Kinesis data set.

Changes to the Attach Content control in Pega Client for Windows

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

Users who access offline-enabled Pega Platform™ applications from Pega Client for Windows can now use the Attach Content control within a case view to attach files with a native file picker control or take screenshots with a device camera. Images are immediately attached to the case, and image file names are based on a time stamp. If a device has no camera, the client skips the source selection step and the native file picker control opens.

For more information, see Harness and Sections forms – Adding an Attach Content control.

Merge application-level test reports by using the Pega API service

Valid from Pega Version 8.5

A new REST API is now available so that you can merge test coverage reports at the application level without having to perform this task manually. This service accepts the application IDs for the test coverage reports that you want to merge and generates a consolidated report in the target application provided.

For more information about setting up your environment and making API calls with Deployment Manager, see the Documentation/readme-for-swagger.md file in the DeploymentManager04_08_0x.zip file, found in the Deployment Manager download package.
