Add comments to feed source messages

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

Users can now post comments on messages from feed sources in their activity feed. By adding comments to these types of messages, users can discuss topics from internal or external data sources, for example, Twitter updates on their organization. You can configure a feed source to allow comments on messages from the source.

AJAX container to host work items and harnesses

The new AJAX container can be used to host work objects, harnesses, or documents. The AJAX container provides design flexibility and improves the user experience by accelerating page loading. You can add the AJAX container from the Layout menu when you edit a section in a dynamic layout.

Edit tables at run time

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now edit tables at run time. For tables that have been configured to allow editing in App Studio, you can specify a visual style, change the table title, set the table pagination, add and remove columns, modify column titles, resize and reorder columns, and specify minimum and maximum column widths.

Create and map data types in Integration Designer

Use the data type wizard in the Integration Designer to create data types and map them to systems of record. The data type wizard reduces complexity when creating and mapping data objects, resulting in reduced development time and a simpler workflow.

Pega Digital Experience API for creating consumer-grade interfaces

You can use front-end frameworks such as React and Angular to create a user interface that is backed by the powerful business logic of Pega Platform™. The updated Pega Digital Experience API leverages the OpenAPI Specification to enable Pega Platform to work with the front-end framework of your choice.

Accessibility Inspector identifies accessibility issues in real time

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

The new Accessibility Inspector finds accessibility issues in your application and helps you to quickly fix these issues. Accessible applications accommodate a range of users with varying degrees of visual ability and might be required by regulation. The Accessibility Inspector, which you open from the run-time toolbar, is displayed on the right side of the page and highlights content, structure, compatibility, and interaction issues. You can click through an accessibility warning to open the affected element and fix the issue. New Email Manager portal

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

From the Email Manager portal you can more easily and quickly triage received emails and create business cases in a Pega Platform™ application. You can use the Email Manager portal with an application that is used with Intelligent Virtual Assistant for Email. The Email Manager portal suggests business cases for you to create from emails and automatically sends replies to a customer.

Create configurable node types with purpose-specific names

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

To meet your specific business needs, you can now configure your own node types that you can segregate by purpose, and also define their behavior. Pega Platform™ supports node types that you can associate with multiple resources, like agents or job schedulers. For ease of use, apply meaningful names to your node types.

View mini user profiles in Pulse

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now view mini profiles of users who post messages and users who are referenced in Pulse, by clicking the name of the user. A mini profile contains the user's job title, reporting manager, organization, and links to call and send email to the user. By seeing a brief overview of a user profile, you can access important information about users and contact them more quickly.
