Access PegaUnit compliance metrics from a centralized location

PegaUnit compliance metrics and execution rate have been added to the PegaUnit metrics tile of the Application Quality dashboard. This dashboard provides a centralized location for all PegaUnit data for a specific application. 

The dashboard also supports granular PegaUnit test information for each case type and data type, similar to the process currently available on the branch quality dashboard.

Support for controlling binary file upload in Pega Mobile Client

The Client Store API of Pega^® Mobile Client has been modified so that you can suspend and resume the process of uploading binary files to the server. You can also check the state of the file uploading process. As a result, custom mobile app users can process their work items without having to wait for the synchronization process to finish.

VTable dispatch mechanism for HTML control execution improves performance

Pega® Platform now uses an optimized VTable dispatch mechanism to manage rule execution for the Text Input and Formatted Text Input controls. This change improves performance by eliminating the dependency between stream rules and HTML controls during rule assembly. Disabling this feature will have a negative effect on performance and is not recommended. However, you can disable this feature by adding the following configuration parameter:

Name: assembly/section/control/vtable
Value: false

Improve application quality by using test coverage metrics

You can now generate a test coverage report for your application. By using report metrics that show the number of rules covered and not covered by tests, developers can identify which areas of the application need more test coverage.

Decisioning services now use default node classification

Decisioning services have been integrated with default node classification on Pega^® Platform to provide a unified way of creating and initializing services. As a result of the integration, the Data Flow service has been divided into Batch and Real Time services to better handle different types of data flow runs. You can now specify separate subsets of Data Flow nodes for batch data flow runs and real-time data flow runs to divide the workload between these two subsets.

Aggregate data in interaction history summaries

You can now group, aggregate, and filter interaction history data in a single strategy component. By using interaction history summaries, you can create refined data sets that simplify strategy frameworks and accelerate decision-making. Aggregated data sets are easier to process, manage, and troubleshoot.

Support for additional health metrics on the Application Quality landing page

On the Application Quality landing page, you can monitor the health of your current application to identify areas that need improvement before deployment. The landing page provides application metrics such as the number of executable rules, the guardrail score, the number of guardrail warnings, the test coverage percentage, and the pass rate of PegaUnit tests. From this landing page, you can also view data for the entire application, for each of its cases, and for rules that are not part of any case type.

Ability to annotate case attachments

Pega^® Platform application users can now add annotations to images that are attached to cases. For example, users can draw around an area of an image to highlight a faulty element of the device. Users can annotate all images, except for signature images or attachments that are stored in Pega Cloud or other external data stores. The annotated case attachments replace the original ones.

PegaWAI ruleset deprecated in 8.5

Accessibility functions that were contained in the PegaWAI ruleset are now integrated into the main Pega Platform™. Consequently, the user interface in your applications now features accessibility functions out of the box, so you no longer need to use the PegaWAI ruleset to ensure accessible behavior in your application.

REST APIs for VTable cache management and quiesce operations

You can access, control, and manage in-memory VTable in cache for a specific rule class and instance name by using new Nodes REST APIs. You can reassemble and reload rules across the cluster and obtain cache entries for a specific node in the cluster. You can also start and cancel the quiesce process on any node in the cluster by using either immediate drain or slow drain.
