Enable users to save charts as .png files

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

You can now enable users to save a report chart as a .png file. On the Chart tab of the Report Definition rule form, click General settings and select the Export chart to image check box. When you select this option, users are provided with the Save as image option, which they can use to save an image of the chart to include in a Word document or email.

For information about including a chart in a report, see Adding or editing charts from the Report Definition rule form.

Enhancements to exporting reports to Excel

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

When you export report results to Microsoft Excel, the process now creates a Data sheet and an Info sheet in the Excel file. By default, the Info sheet contains the report title, filters used to generate the report, the date when the report was generated, and the number of results returned.

If you want the report title and filters to display in the first sheet instead of the Info sheet, you can disable the default functionality. For more information, see Disabling the creation of an Info sheet in Excel output.

Enhanced activity feed for Pulse displays messages

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

The activity feed for Pulse has been enhanced to display replies to messages that you have posted, messages on cases that you are following, messages in which you are referenced, messages posted on your user profile, messages by users that you are following, and messages that you have bookmarked. You can filter the activity feed to display the messages that you want to view.

For information about Pulse enhancements, see:

Adjust styling for UI elements with standard CSS helper classes

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

Rather than creating a new skin format to make minor formatting changes to a user interface element, click the Open helper class picker icon on the Presentation tab of the Properties panel and select a predefined Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) helper class to apply to the element. For example, you can use a CSS helper class to center an element in a cell or layout. Using helper classes saves development time, reduces maintenance by limiting the number of customized skin formats, and improves the consistency of your application's look and feel. By avoiding the introduction of unnecessary static content, you also improve your application's initial loading time.

For more information, see CSS helper classes.

Preview and select icons with the icon class picker

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

To see the standard, predefined icons that are available for a Button, Link, or Icon control, use the Open the icon class picker icon on the General tab of the Properties panel. From an overlay of icons, you can then select the one that is most appropriate for your control. By using a predefined icon, you bring greater consistency to your user interface and help users more easily understand the purpose of each control.

For more information, see Previewing and selecting predefined icons with the icon class picker.

Extension attributes are not supported in PMML models

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

Models in the Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML) format version 4.3 that contain extension attributes with the x- prefix are not valid. These extension attributes are deprecated; you must use extension elements instead. In addition, if the output type of any output field in the model is set to FLOAT, change it to DOUBLE.

For more information, see PMML 4.3 - General Structure in the Data Mining Group documentation.

Support for email triaging of interaction cases for the Email user channel

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

You can now triage customer email content that is saved in an interaction case for the Pega® Intelligent Virtual Assistant for Email. A customer service representative can reply to the email, reassign the interaction case to another user or a work queue, resolve the interaction case, or spin off a business case from the interaction case. Carrying out these actions improves the artificial intelligence capability of the Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant for Email, for example, for automatic email routing purposes.

For more information, see Email triage an interaction case.

Define property value criteria for stage entry

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

You can now define the criteria that property values must meet to enter a stage, by clicking Validations on the Data model tab of a case type. By validating the properties, you can ensure that a case contains relevant data before it enters a stage.

For more information, see Property condition requirements for stage entry.

Agile Workbench supports bulk actions

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

You can now create stories in bulk by importing a story template to Agile Workbench. By defining stories in bulk before you start development, you can size your project more quickly.

For more information, see Bulk actions in Agile Workbench.

Guided tours and online help added to application guides

Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1

You can now create application guides that display content from a Pega® Platform help topic or a sequence of tour stops in a guided tour. By providing supporting information in an interactive format, you can help users complete tasks more quickly.

For more information about displaying help topics, tour stops, and other types of information in a task, see Interactive tasks in an application guide.
