Data Import wizard supports all Microsoft Excel default formats

The Data Import wizard for data types now supports all Microsoft Excel default date formats. Dates are easier to handle and you are alerted before data is imported if the date format is not supported.

Property-level security for full-text search

Property-level security has been added to full-text search so that you can limit access to sensitive data. From the Search landing page, you can specify whether to include properties with access control policies in search results. In addition, for custom search, you can select which properties to include in full-text search by selecting options on the Search landing page and Custom Search properties instance.

Event type browsing on the Customer Movie landing page

Event Browser is a new option on the Customer Movie landing page that provides insight into the history of customer interactions. You can retrieve data from the Event Store data set for a particular customer or a group of customers, display the events in a timeline, and browse a list of event types.

Simplified section property panels in Pega Express

When you edit sections in Pega Express, the sections display a simplified properties panel. This panel presents the essential section properties in an intuitive way to streamline the editing process. To access this properties panel in Pega Express, click the Pencil icon next to an editable object. For more information, see Runtime editing of sections in Pega Express.

SystemCleaner agent is split into node-level and cluster-level agents

The Pega-RULES:SystemCleaner agent has been split into node-level and cluster-level agents to avoid database performance issues. The new node-level agent, Pega-RulesEngine:NodeCleaner, runs on all the nodes in the cluster, while the new cluster-level agent, Pega-RulesEngine:ClusterAndDBCleaner, runs on only one node in the cluster. If you customized the agent schedules of the Pega-RULES:SystemCleaner agent, you must manually update the agent schedules of the new agents because customized schedules are not retained.

Fallback activity for Service REST and SOAP

You can now configure a fallback response activity for a time-out for Service REST and SOAP. Using a fallback response activity makes it easier to meet a service-level agreement (SLA) by providing a logical response in a timely manner. For example, the fallback activity can display a default offer to an ATM customer instead of an offer that is based on that particular customer's data.

Add custom controls to section palettes

You can add custom controls to the Basic or Advanced palettes in sections. With this enhancement, Pega^® Platform developers have easy access to custom controls. The Show in authoring menus check box is available in the HTML tab of the custom control rule. You can add a custom icon to display in the menu with the custom control.

Requestor Management landing page access privileges

To access the Requestor Management landing page after upgrading to Pega^® Platform 7.3, you need to add the appropriate privileges to the @baseclass and Pega-Landing access classes in the access roles. Apply these privileges to any application in which you want the operator to be able use the requestor management feature.

Select multiple nodes for the Adaptive Decision Manager service

You can select multiple Pega Platform nodes and assign them to the Adaptive Decision Manager (ADM) service as worker nodes. Adaptive learning is no longer restricted to a single server, which provides resilience and scalability. You can add or remove nodes from the ADM service while the system processes customer responses.

Greater cluster stability with client-server clustering topology

You can now deploy Pega^® Platform in the new client-server clustering topology that uses Apache Ignite, which increases stability in large clusters and provides independent scalability for both servers and clients. This technology separates the client nodes, which are responsible for Pega Platform processes, from the server nodes, which are responsible for cluster communication and distributed features. If your production environment consists of more than five nodes in the cluster, it is recommended that you switch to the new client-server topology.
