Revamped view authoring in Cosmos React

Applications that use Cosmos React now feature updated case and portal authoring tools, including more templates, improved view editing, and more intuitive management of UI components.

This change empowers citizen developers to build applications through configuration as opposed to customization, and reduces development time while also providing a prescriptive environment for creating optimal customer experience.

Enhancements in list view authoring and run-time editing of Cosmos React tables

Cosmos React tables now offer an enriched and more convenient way of authoring and editing. You can now achieve the following results:

• Enable editing in the list view template that holds your table so that users can instantly change values inline or preview and edit a referenced object from the table in a pop-up window.
• Change the label, format, or helper text for a column at design time.
• Create multiple preset views with different filters, and switch between these views at run time.
• Perform a variety of optional actions on a table row, such as update, change stage, preview, and open a row in a new tab.

These enhancements result in a better user experience by making tables more customizable, intuitive, and interactive.

Improved capability to attach content in offline-enabled applications

The feature for attaching content in applications while in offline mode has been enhanced. A list of attached content is displayed in the application while in offline mode. You can view or delete attachments if the application has not yet been synchronized with the server. You also can change the maximum size of a file that you can attach while working in offline mode. This option gives you the flexibility to select the right size of attachment for a specific application for performance, memory limitation, or security reasons.

Create pluggable web storage components for case and Pulse attachments

You can now implement and post your own pluggable web storage components for use with case and Pulse attachments. These web components can be plugged in to Pega^® Platform without the need to make changes to Pega Platform itself. The ability to create a pluggable web storage component is useful when you want to use a web storage provider that does not have an existing pluggable web storage component.

Ability to train the text analytics model based on email attachments

You can now train the text analytics model for Pega Email Bot™ based on training data from email attachments. As a result, you improve the natural language processing (NLP) analysis for your email bot so that your system detects the correct language, sentiment, topics, and entities from both the body of emails and their attachments. By default, you train the text analytics model based only on training data from the body of emails.

Enhanced Pulse gadget for Cosmos React

Together with the DX API, the Cosmos React component now provides an overlay in which users can quickly view and select the feed sources from which to view Pulse messages. Users can also add attachments to their messages, and remove the messages that they post. These enhancements improve collaboration and speed up case resolution. For example, a case worker can view only posts from particular cases, to quickly find a request for additional information about a case, and then provide necessary details by attaching a relevant document.

Chart drilldown capabilities extended to dashboard widgets

When the chart for a report is displayed in a dashboard widget, you now can click any part of the chart to drill down and view the subset of data for that part. This enhancement provides you with an accurate view of the data that determines the report results. Previously, this capability was provided only in the Report Viewer.

Enhancements to the Send Email smart shape

The following enhancements have been made to the Send Email smart shape:

• You can now configure the Send Email smart shape in Pega Express.
• You can use templates, such as a rejection template, in your email.
• You can use property values, which allow you to insert the value of a field in your case type, such as First Name, within the email.
• You can insert a link to the case ID in your email.
• You can more quickly configure your recipient list by using two options, instead of one, to send messages to either a list of email addresses or to fields.
• You can choose to send either all case attachments in an email, or you can send attachments of a specified attachment category or an attachment type field. You can specify multiple attachment categories and attachment type fields.

Extended support for Cosmos React tables in Pega Infinity applications

Cosmos React tables are now available to Pega Infinity™ pages. Previously, when you enabled Cosmos React UI for landing pages in your application, you could add the React-based tables only to landing pages. With this enhancement, you can also embed tables in a section that is part of your case view or dashboard page.

Automatically process cases with SharePoint

You can now use Microsoft SharePoint Online to store and source case and Pulse attachments and to store and source attachments during automated case processing. Users only have to provide authentication and authorization details the first time they access SharePoint Online or when the trust has expired. The authentication profile must be OAuth 2.0 with a grant type of authorization code. The SharePoint Online component can be downloaded from Pega Exchange.
