Support for inline helper text for editable form fields

You can now configure inline helper text for editable form fields. The helper text is always visible on the form, and you can style the text to override the helper-text CSS class in the Override CSS file in the skin.
Providing helper text in editable form fields helps users complete forms more quickly and efficiently.

Personalized table views

You can now configure tables so that users can personalize table views at run time. Users can specify which columns to display, resize and reorder columns, and set an initial sort order and initial column filter. When users save these personalized settings, the table displays the personalized view each time that users access the table.
Personalizing table views can help users work more efficiently by providing greater control over what data they see and how it is presented.

View status of custom search indexes

Custom search indexes are special purpose indexes that are created and managed outside of Pega Platform™. You can view the status of custom search indexes on the Search landing page to see whether they are complete. This information is useful for troubleshooting and can help you determine whether to rebuild the index.

New tile view in Report Browser

The Report Browser now displays available reports in a tile view, in addition to the list view. You can toggle between the two display formats. The report tiles provide a thumbnail preview of each report, which makes it easier for you to identify reports at a glance, without having to open each report.

View mini user profiles in Pulse
Valid from Pega Version 8.1
You can now view mini profiles of users who post messages and users who are referenced in Pulse, by clicking the name of the user. A mini profile contains the user's job title, reporting manager, organization, and links to call and send email to the user. By seeing a brief overview of a user profile, you can access important information about users and contact them more quickly.

Show multiple views of data in your application

You can now show multiple views of data in your application by adding the record editor (pxRecordsEditor) section to a layout, another section, or a cell in a layout. You can configure the section to customize the display and enable the search, import, and export capabilities of the record editor.

Data view management added to Data Designer

You can now manage data views, called data pages in Dev Studio, in the Data Designer in App Studio. You can change a data view's data source without switching to Dev Studio. You can create a JSON mapping using a visual, drag-and-drop mapper.

You can now access a visual depiction of the relationships among data types from the Data Designer in App Studio. By understanding how data types depend on properties and other data types, you can extend your data model more quickly.

Quickly preview laptop, tablet, and phone views for Case Manager portals

You can use the Mobile preview item from the
menu to rapidly preview how the current portal is displayed in the default browser window size on laptops, tablets, and phones. You can view either portrait or landscape orientations for both tablets and phones. View all nodes in a cluster from the Cluster Management landing page
