Enhanced tables in Cosmos React UI

Valid from Pega Version 8.5

The Pega Platform™ Cosmos React UI environment now includes improved tables. The updated tables use a revamped graphic design and support a number of new run-time behaviors, including column freezing and advanced filtering. The added features improve the user experience by giving case workers more control over data in tables, while the revised architecture enhances efficiency and reliability.

Deprecation of override rulesets in run-time ruleset lists

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

Pega 7.2.1 is the last release where override rulesets can be incorporated in the run-time ruleset list. The ability to create override rulesets was originally deprecated in Pega 7.1. However, any override rulesets that were created in releases prior to Pega 7.1 in the application ruleset lists were still incorporated into the run-time ruleset lists at the appropriate location. In releases after Pega 7.2.1, override rulesets will be ignored and will not be incorporated in the run-time ruleset list. Therefore, it is recommended that you use production rulesets in access groups instead of override rulesets.

Response timeout configuration for predictions

Valid from Pega Version 8.5

You can now set a response timeout for your predictions in Prediction Studio. By setting a response timeout, you control how Prediction Studio registers customer responses that later serve as feedback data for your predictions.

For more information, see Customizing predictions.

Design templates in Pega Express

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now use design templates to control the layout of form fields in Pega Express. Use the form builder Layouts tab to select a layout for the form and organize the fields in the layout regions.

For more information, see Adding a design template to a form in Pega Express.

Rule form search

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now search for content within some rule forms by clicking Search rule on the Actions menu. The search results and the tabs of the rule form that contain the search results are highlighted.

For example, you can find the properties that are used in a when condition inside an activity without navigating to each tab, when condition, transition, and method in the activity.

Build contextual help for user interfaces with guided tour rules

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

The guided tour rule is now available, enabling you to showcase the key features on user forms or portals by providing users with information, instructions, or controls in a sequence of pop-up windows called tour stops. The rule allows you to configure the sequence, format, and location in which they are displayed. The content of each tour stop is defined in a referenced section.

Responsive UI works with the Mobile Mashup SDK

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

Responsive UI elements now work inside of a mobile application that has been integrated with the Mobile Mashup SDK for either an iOS or Android mobile device. Using a responsive UI with your mobile application reduces development costs, since one UI functions in a similar manner when accessed from both desktop and mobile devices, making it easier to deploy an application across multiple device types.

See Mobile Mashup SDK integration for iOS and Mobile Mashup SDK integration for Android for more information on using the Mobile Mashup SDK.

Email approval and instantiation not supported on multitenant systems

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

The Enable email approval check box appears on the General tab of an approval step in Case Designer in multitenant systems. It also appears on the Approval shape in Designer Studio. In addition, in Designer Studio, the Settings tab in Case Designer displays the option to configure email instantiation. However, because configuring email listeners is not supported on multitenant systems, you cannot enable email approval or email instantiation.

Ignore browser and operator locale to display Designer Studio in English

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

The operator preferences configuration includes the option to ignore the browser and operator locale. Some rulesets are shared between Designer Studio and end-user portals. Translated words might occasionally display in Designer Studio. Selecting the Ignore locale check box ignores the locale of the operator and browser to display Designer Studio portals in U.S. English only.

For more information, see Updating Designer Studio preferences.

Immediate drain available for the quiesce process when using high availability

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

The quiesce process, which is used to take a server out of service for maintenance in a highly available system, can now be modified to use the immediate drain method. When using the default slow drain method for quiesce, users are placed in a passivation queue. When using the immediate drain method, users can continue to access the node being quiesced until it is removed from the load balancer.

Organizations should determine which quiesce method to use based on the overall needs of their users. However, for applications that have implemented long poll requests, it is recommended to use the slow drain method.

For more information, see the Pega 7.2.1 High Availability Administration Guide.
