Decision data stores

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

Decision Management in Pega 7.1.7 introduces two new concepts to manage data: decision data stores, and Data Nodes (DNodes). Horizontally scalable, and supported by DNodes, decision data stores take data from different sources, and make it available for real time and batch processing. This infrastructure is managed through the DNode Cluster Management landing page.

Delayed adaptive learning

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

Data flows, a new rule type in Pega 7.1.7, allow you to store adaptive inputs and interaction results for a given period of time when running a strategy. This makes it possible to capture and learn from responses at a later date. For more information on data flow design for delayed learning, see Data Flow rule form - Completing the Data Flow tab.

Predictive Analytics Director portal

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

Predictive Analytics Director (PAD) has been integrated into Pega7, allowing you to develop and generate predictive models that can be used in strategies and process flows. The following new rulesets have been added to PegaDM to support this functionality: PredictiveAnalytics-IntSvcs, and PredictiveAnalytics-UI. For more information on rules using models generated by the Predictive Analytics Director portal, see About Predictive Model rules.

Offline capability in mobile applications

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

With Pega 7, mobile applications (apps) can be built with the offline capability enabled. Enabling the offline capability for an app means that a user can create a new case or complete any assignments from their worklist. Changes performed offline are automatically synchronized when the mobile app comes back online.

For more information, see Mobile offline capability.

Explore the relationships between data types with the Data Visualizer

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

The Data Visualizer, new in Pega 7.1.7, provides a graphical display of the relationships among your application's data types and class types. The map view can help clarify how your application's data works together. When you hover the mouse pointer over an entity in the display, the Data Visualizer highlights the entities with which that entity has a direct relationship.

For more information, see About the Data Visualizer.

Changes to default Agent settings

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

Default agent settings across several rulesets have been updated in this release. Changes to settings include agents that are now:

  • Disabled by default
  • Scheduled to run at a recurring designated time interval (in seconds)
  • Scheduled to run daily at a specified time

An example of some updated default agent settings. Compared to earlier versions, you can see in Pega 7.1.7 that ProcessCaseTypeCalculations and ProcessFlowDependencies are now set to run every 60 seconds, and that ProcessEmailRequest is disabled.

This update allows operations staff to understand the general purpose of an agent by product, and enhances usability of this information by improving navigation of agents in large systems through filtering and sorting.

For more information, see Changes to default agent settings in Pega 7.1.7.

Improved adaptive model accuracy

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

Enhancements have been made in the grouping scores method that is used to create the adaptive model outcome profile (also known as: classifier). Because scores form the base for calculating propensities, these changes make models more accurate. The enhanced grouping scores method is available with any new model generated in Pega 7.1.7 and does not require any changes to existing adaptive model rules or adaptive model components. For more information on adaptive models, see About Adaptive Model rules.

Cannot create new data tables after update

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

Data tables have been replaced by a new local data storage format. You can upgrade old-style data tables to use the new local data storage format, but the new format is not compatible with earlier versions of Pega 7 in which data tables could be created.

You can still edit legacy data tables by using the old data table functionality. However, to create new data tables, you must use the Data Explorer and Data Designer.

System Management Application displaying listeners that do not require any action

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

After installing or upgrading to Pega 7.1.7, there is an additional available listener (Data-Decision-DNode-Service:Default) that does not require any action. This listener can be safely ignored and you should not use the System Management Application to manage any of its operations or state.

  • The Data-Decision-DNode-Service:Default listener is always running on every PRPC node.
  • The state of this listener is internally managed by PRPC. Starting or stopping it through SMA does not have any effect on its state.

Test ID added for unique identification of UI elements during testing

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

A unique Test ID property has been added to support automated testing, enabling you to write dependable automated tests against any Pega application. By including this unique identifier in your automated testing, you ensure a higher level of productivity and reliability within your applications. For more information see Test ID and Tour ID for unique identification of UI elements.
