Enable business users to own parts of an enterprise application

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.6

Decision Manager functionality allows business users to own parts of an enterprise application within the boundaries defined by IT. PegaDM includes the Pega-DecisionManager ruleset that supports this functionality.

System architects define the boundaries for business users in the Decision Manager portal using revision management and proposition authorization facilities in Designer Studio. Access control is provided through custom roles, which system architects can create based on granular privileges. The Decision Manager portal provides business users with a controlled environment for the workflow, and the activities necessary to address the objectives of a revision.

User interface distortions in the Predictive Analytics Director portal

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.6

By default, the New Application wizard configures new applications to include UI-Kit-7 in the list of application rulesets. This ruleset causes user interface distortions in the Predictive Analytics Director portal. Applications created in maintenance level updates previous to Pega 7.1.6, and applications that do not include the UI-Kit-7 dependency, are not impacted by this known issue.

Workaround:

  1. Open the application record.
  2. In Application Rulesets, remove UI-Kit-7.
  3. Save the application record.

System Management Application displaying listeners that do not require any action

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.7

After installing or upgrading to Pega 7.1.7, there is an additional available listener (Data-Decision-DNode-Service:Default) that does not require any action. This listener can be safely ignored and you should not use the System Management Application to manage any of its operations or state.

  • The Data-Decision-DNode-Service:Default listener is always running on every PRPC node.
  • The state of this listener is internally managed by PRPC. Starting or stopping it through SMA does not have any effect on its state.

The Create Build button appears grayed out when configuring and building a mobile application

Valid from Pega Version 7.1.8

When you attempt to configure and build your Android or iOS mobile application from the Mobile tab, the Create build button might appear dimmed. This issue occurs if any of the access roles in the access group were cloned from the PegaRULES:SysAdm4 access role.

Refer to Troubleshooting Pega Mobile Client to learn how to fix this issue in your application.

Automatically process cases with SharePoint

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

You can now use Microsoft SharePoint Online to store and source case and Pulse attachments and to store and source attachments during automated case processing. Users only have to provide authentication and authorization details the first time they access SharePoint Online or when the trust has expired. The authentication profile must be OAuth 2.0 with a grant type of authorization code. The SharePoint Online component can be downloaded from Pega Exchange. For more information, see Downloading and configuring pluggable content management components.

Push notifications added to steps in a life cycle

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

In Pega Express, you can now add a step to the life cycle of a case type that pushes a notification to users on mobile devices when a case requires an action, such as approval or review. By using an event-driven model to send messages, you can ensure that cases are resolved quickly.

For more information about push notifications, see Sending a push notification from a case.

Enhancements to the Email conversational user channel

Valid from Pega Version 7.4

In the Pega® Intelligent Virtual Assistant for Email, to help with entity extraction from an email message, you can now highlight any mapped entities in the content of an email message during email triage of an interaction case. Pagination is now available for lists of suggested cases and suggested replies during configuration of the Email channel interface.

For more information, see Email triage in an interaction case.

Improve application test coverage by running multiple sessions

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can improve the test coverage of your application by using a new test coverage method - Application Coverage. Multiple users can perform coverage sessions which are aggregated into a single report. By using report metrics that show the number of rules that are covered and are not covered by tests, developers can identify which areas of the application need more test coverage.

For more information, see the Test Coverage landing page.

Search added for case data

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can enable search for individual case types. When search is enabled for a case type, all text in the case data is searched, making it easy for your application users to find work items.

For information about enabling search for a case type, see Including indexed data during case search.

Support for when rule in offline-enabled applications

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can use when rules in offline-enabled applications without creating custom JavaScript code. Using when rules reduces the offline-enabled application implementation time by further automating case processing in offline mode and deriving the logic directly from the model. No additional configuration is required to use when rules in offline mode.

For more information, see When rule support in offline mode.
