Listener management in Designer Studio

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

On the new Listener Management landing page, you can view and manage available listeners across the cluster, including on the current node and remote nodes. By using this landing page, you can quickly debug and trace listeners. You can start, stop, and restart listeners, and you can filter the list of listeners by, for example, type, status, class, or name.

For more information, see Managing listeners.

REST API for monitoring DSM services

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

Decision Strategy Manager (DSM) now provides a REST API that you can use to monitor DSM services without having to access Pega Platform™. By integrating your daily monitoring tools with the management REST API, you can retrieve a list of DSM nodes, check the status of these nodes, and view details of a service from all nodes in the cluster.

For more information, see Getting started with Pega API for Pega Platform.

New integration system resource

Valid from Pega Version 8.1

You can now define integration systems that you can use when you create data pages, integration connectors, and databases. Integration systems are associated with an icon that is displayed on the Integration Designer so that you can quickly view the systems that are used by your data types. This information is useful for assessing the effect of migrating to a new system of record and for understanding your data model.

For more information, see Creating an integration system.

Default filter settings for Pulse feed sources

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

Set default filters for Pulse messages, so that users see only relevant posts. Users can temporarily change these settings at run time to view messages from different feed sources, and restore the default settings by refreshing the page.

For more information, see Adding a feed source for the activity feed.

Visual Data Model enhancements

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

View your application's full data model, see how its entities are related, edit and delete fields, and add fields to the model without exiting the Visual Data Model. In addition, you can now search the entire data model for fields and select a case or data type class to see its fields and relationships.

For more information, see Exploring the data model.

New achievement badges

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

New achievement badges have been added to help you learn about and explore Pega Express.

The new badges are:

  • Configure a new application view
  • Configure a layout
  • Add a chart to a report
  • Set a profile picture
  • Post to Pulse
  • Manage team details
  • Enable push notifications

For more information about badges, see Achievement badges.

Consistent authoring experience for sections

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

Section references inside a dynamic layout have the same configuration options as a top-level section within a section (section include). Section references reduce the need for included sections, reduce the size of the document object model (DOM), and provide a more consistent authoring experience. You can specify a container format, set view and update privileges, and defer content load for sections within or outside of a dynamic layout. For more information see Harness and Section forms - Adding a section.

More action types on the bottom bar

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

Pega Infinity Mobile Client™ now provides more flexible bottom bar configuration with a broader choice of actions, so that your apps can be more useful. For example, users can now create work items, open work items, or log out directly from the bottom bar of a mobile app.

For more information, see Configuring the bottom bar.

Identify Pega unit test cases associated with inactive or deleted rules

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

From the Application: Unit testing landing page, you can view a list of all Pega unit test cases that are associated with inactive or deleted rules in the currently included applications. You cannot use these test cases because they will always fail.

Either remove such test cases, or reactivate the rules that they are associated with.

For more information, see Application: Unit testing landing page.

Swipe actions in repeating dynamic layouts in a mobile app

Valid from Pega Version 8.3

Lists that are based on repeating dynamic layouts now support swipe actions. The menu of available actions, such as Edit or Delete, does not obscure the view and is displayed only when a mobile app user swipes a row. Users benefit from easier navigation and they can do smaller tasks quickly, without leaving the main screen.

For more information, see Configuring swipe actions for a mobile app.
