Null check added for step page

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.6

After creating and adding new Access Roles and application 'Access When' to the privileges instead of Production level, during run time the error "runtime.IndeterminateConditionalException: Trying to evaluate Rule-Access-When conditions L:IsProdAccess when there is no page to evaluate them against" appeared for the specific privileges. This was traced to a missed use case where the system falls back to the step page if the page for evaluating the 'when' condition is null, which did not account for scenarios where the step page can be null. To resolve this, a null check has been added which will fetch the primary page if the step page for the access 'when' condition is null.

Improved disconnected requestor cleanup for FieldService

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.6

A large number of requestors from FieldService with the status as 'Disconnected' were accumulating and causing performance issues. This was traced to the requestors not getting passivated due to users not logging out and new requestors being created for the same users next time, and was caused by the value of the DSS Initialization/PersistRequestor being set as "OnTimeout". When the DSS prconfig/timeout/browser/default is not configured, the default browser requestor timeout is 60 minutes. In this scenario, requestors were not passivating as the requestor passivation timeout was set to the refresh token lifetime for mobile users, which was very large and overwrote the DSS value. This has been resolved by removing the code which set the passivation timeout to the OAuth2 refresh token lifetime.

Support added for multi-operator SAML logins

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.1

When a SAML user is logged in by Single Sign-On (SAML), the system processes the login to portal as a different operator if there was a function on the Attribute field under Operator identification in the SAML authentication service. In this scenario, using an expression for operator provisioning did not work because all SAML login sessions resolved to the same first operator due to parseAndEvaluateExpression() in ExpressionHelper.java ignoring new expression arguments if the expression page already existed. To support the use of multiple operator logins in this format, the system has been updated to clone a new expression page for every session and update it with the correct expression arguments.

HTTPS login path issue resolved

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.1

When using iOS, entering wrong credentials for a login with an https endpoint converted the URL to http. This was traced to a case where the resourcePath was coming as http in SSL enabled system, but the reqURI was still https. To correct this, the system has been updated so that if the reqContextURI starts with https and the requestURL starts with http, then the requestURL will be converted to https.

Documentation updated for accents and special characters used in search

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.5

The "Pega search API" article has been updated to reflect that the search functionality in Pega Platform does not match accented words with unaccented. For example, searching for santé and sante will retrieve different results. In addition, Domain Specific Language (DSL) includes special characters for use when searching, for example '-', '_', '!', '@'. However, the system retrieves various results depending on the way the special characters are used in the search query. If the query contains special characters that are not escaped, the system may retrieve incorrect results. For example, not escaping the slash mark in the 25/02 query may cause the system to ignore the special character.

Disconnect button availability extended

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.5

A case was not refreshing when the disconnect button was selected while using the standard section for authorization grant type authentication. This was traced to a query executed to find a div with attribute pzInsHandle, but that attribute was not applicable in the user portal. To support this use, the query has been extended to be applicable for user portal (attribute data-ui-meta) and Dev Studio landing page.

Skip restored for browser request CSRF token

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.5

Many SECU0008 alerts were seen in the production logs. This was the result of a CSRF token check on requests without pyActivity or pyStream, and has been resolved by restoring a conditional skip of the check as those other browser requests do not contain a CSRF token.

SSLContext created using protocol from REST connector rule form

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.5

After upgrading to IBM websphere v9.0.5.6 or higher, API calls Like REST, Connect-HTTP etc were failing to connect to endpoints using TLSv1.2. Investigation showed that although the connector was configured to send TLSv1.2, the ClientHello handshake was triggered for TLSv1.3. Because the SSLContext was created with highest version supported by protocol in the WAS container, this has been resolved by modifying the code to create SSLContext based on the the protocol selected in the REST connector rule form. Additionally, please note that the Connect-HTTP connector has been deprecated and the Connect-REST capabilities in the platform should be used instead.
