Custom agent next run time will be rescheduled if the run failed

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.5

If a customized agent that was set to run every day encountered an exception and failed to run, restarting the agent did not update it to the next run time, it still returned the passed trigger time as its next execution time. This has been resolved with an update that will reschedule the run if the next run time is in the past.

SnapStart supports SAML2 Authentication

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.5

When using an HTTP Post to SnapStart into Pega using PRCustom style or PRAuth style SAML authentication, the login was looping back to the login request. Investigation showed that the Pega ACS was posting data properly back to the RelayState URL, however the login activity was not getting the SAMLResponse and simply sent a SAML Login Request again. This has been fixed by updating reqContextURI in case of SAML2 Authentication service so pyActivity=value will be passed.

Cookie logging restored

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.5

As part of security updates, Cookies were restricted from being logged. However, this caused some business use cases such as a custom function call to obtain the list of cookies that are present in the application to stop working. To resolve this, the cookie logging restriction has been reverted.

Local UUID cache will be updated when merge event is detected

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.5

Cluster-related issues were seen in multiple production clusters. For some nodes in the cluster the Cluster Management screen showed all expected nodes with valid Node IDs displayed, and on other nodes the Cluster Management screen showed the node ID of itself, SERVER@localhost:5701. On an impacted node displaying the wrong ID, the Node Information landing page did not work and displayed the error "Unable to execute job on ." Multiple advanced agents running on nodes in the affected clusters, both with correct and incorrect IDs, also failed with a similar error "Unable to execute job on <node's job id>". This was traced to a merge performed after a split brain. To resolve this, the code has been updated to handle merge events: when the node UUID is changed as part of a split brain recovery, the local UUID cache will be updated when the merge event is detected.

Column population honors thread count of 1

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.5

The thread count parameter in the column population activity was not being honored, causing repeated deadlocks when trying to populate columns. Investigation showed that the ExposeCols process did not honor the thread count when it was 1 (the default is 4), and this has been fixed by adding the necessary code so that if the thread count is 1, it will not run in multhreaded mode.

Expired Oauth Refresh Token will persist for obtaining new token

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.5

OAuth2.0 was providing the refresh token only once in the first time response of the token endpoint. Once the token expired for first time, it was possible to get a new access token using the refresh token. However, if the access token expired for the second time, it was not possible to generate the new access token automatically because the expired token was set as null. To resolve this, the system has been updated to persist the previous refresh token in order to get a new access token.

SameSite cookie setting added for Mashup support in Google Chrome v80+

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.3

The Google Chrome browser version 80 and above now treats SameSite with a blank value as "Lax" by default, causing mashup scenarios to break. In order to compensate for this change, support has been added for setting SameSite=None in Cookie Settings; this value automatically includes the “secure” cookie flag, which enforces HTTPS for the Pega server and mashup. For mashups to work, SameSite should be set as None. Create a Dynamic system setting in the Pega-Engine RuleSet with the name “security/csrf/samesitecookieattributevalue” and the value "None" and restart the server. (The SameSite value "None" works only in secure HTTPS connections.)Note: The SameSite cookie may be set to None/Lax/Strict, based on the requirement. For cookie requirements other than mashup, it should be set as either Strict or Lax, depending upon your application.

Check for circular references added to SearchInventoryImpl to prevent recursive call

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.3

An out of memory error was traced to SearchInventoryImpl infinitely recursing over a clipboard property, where the child property referenced a parent property and resulted in an endless loop. This has been resolved with the addition of a depth check to ensure that the search does not recurse infinitely.

Column type configured correctly in Care Management

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.3

When using database tables for concrete class groups with the column pyassignedoperator as character type without size, upon installation on higher environments the message "ERROR: length for type char cannot exceed 10485760 for colum "pyassignedoperator" CHAR (2147483647)" appeared. As a workaround it was possible to manually change the column type, but this issue has been resolved by updating the handling of BPCHAR types while cloning the table. BPCHAR type will be taken as CHAR.

DASS and DAS associated to the Pega-ProcessCommander Ruleset

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.3

An upgrade was failing at the point of Pega Rules Upgrade in the Installer Instance with the error "Encountered database exception when preprocessing deferred operations <insert updatesCache instance DATA-ADMIN-SYSTEM PEGA not only if new>. This node not found in the database - Either the record was never saved or was deleted. Unable to join the cluster." This error occurred because the strategic application import during upgrade manually included a "systemname" DASS instance which had a value other than "prpc". This caused a override of the platform shipped DASS (with value "prpc), which is required by the upgrade. In order to avoid this condition, DASS and DAS have been associated to the Pega-ProcessCommander Ruleset.
