Fixed flow line distortion in Process Modeler

Resolved in Pega Version 7.1.9

When clicking through to a subprocess from a parent flow (by clicking the + sign in the blue subprocess shape), flow lines in the subprocess were shown in a distorted fashion. When opening the same flow in a separate tab (by right clicking the blue subprocess shape and selecting Open Flow) the flow lines were correctly painted. This was an issue caused by the different renderings of the flow depending on whether there was a click through to it (with the + on the parent flow?s subprocess shape), or the subflow was opened in a separate tab (with open Flow). After the Process Modeler saved and checked-in the flow, the connector lines were re-drawn in ways that were non-intuitive and hard to interpret due to the edge routing in PM being calculated off incorrect input data that was taking into account shapes that were not represented on the screen. To fix this, the system now ensures the edges are routed without taking into account any shapes not represented on the canvas.

Fixed scrumboard intermittent failure

Resolved in Pega Version 7.1.9

After upgrading, it was seen that the scrumboard would intermittently fail to load, partially displaying and then hanging if the columns did not fit within the window boundaries due to the number of elements. This was traced to an error in the functionality that resizes parts of the scrumboard, and has been fixed.

Enhancement added for node heartbeat recovery process

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.5

Nodes were not showing up in the admin portal even though they were up and running and could be seen in the pr_sys_statusnodes table. The exception "An exception was encountered while invoking the cluster membership listener callback" was seen. All nodes became visible again after multiple restarts. The root cause was traced back to a temporary database connectivity problem. The database itself was fine according to database monitoring reports, but a network problem, a slow database query, or another issue prevented Pega from establishing a connection for more than a minute. An enhancement has been made to resolve this: if a node becomes unhealthy due to the service registry missing due to a failed heartbeat, the heartbeat will try to recover after 60 seconds and keep trying every 30 seconds until it succeeds.

Resolved Cassandra query read/write latency

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.5

Read/write latency was seen when certain Cassandra queries were triggered by the system. This was traced to an unusual case where a flush was not done for an exceptionally long time period, and has been resolved.

Resolved unnecessary Apache UIMA Ruta logging

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.5

A high level of exception logging related to Apache UIMA Ruta was seen under high loads due to annotations in the standard Ruta scripts; this did not impact execution, and has been resolved so only relevant events are logged.

Stricter criteria set for reusing an SSAExecutionContext

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.5

After a Strategy was configured with an existing Proposition Filter and the Explain Results box was unchecked, executing the strategy resulted in the error "Stack is empty, cannot pop any more frames". Investigation showed that the SSAExecutionContext object was reused across the two criteria evaluation in Proposition Filter rule: this works well as long as the input is the same across the two evaluations. However, the SSAExecutionContext object also stashed a reference to a PublicAPI object which became stale in the second evaluation and caused the empty stack issue for the given scenario. This has been resolved by providing stricter criteria in deciding when an SSAExecutionContext can be reused or not in the case of Proposition Filter rule.
