Designer Studio — Using the Recent Explorer

The Recent Explorer provides quick access to up to 20 of the most recently opened cases, rule or data instance records, Create, Save As, and Copy forms, landing pages, Wizard items, and instance lists. Click an item to open it in the Designer Studio work area. The most recently opened item appears at the top of the Explorer.

The Explorer retains the contents when you log off PRPC and log back on. The contents do not change when you switch applications or workpools.

You must have the pxUpdateRecents privilege granted in order to see items in the Recent Explorer. For the pyCaseManager7 portal users, add an Access of Role to Object instance in the Applies To class System-User-Recents that grants the pxUpdateRecents privilege.

Working with the Recent Explorer

The Explorer displays a list of items with links that enable you to open the items. They are categorized as follows:

• Rule or data records — The short description, key parts, and form name. Click any of the links to open the record form. Checked out records display a checked-out icon and a label Checked out. Records that have been updated and not saved are indicated by an icon.
• New forms — New and the form name links
• Save As forms — Save As - <short description of original rule> and form name links
• Landing pages — Landing page category and landing page name links
• Cases — Case type name and work item ID links
• Instance lists — Name of the rule or data type links and the label Instance List.
• Wizard items — Wizard name link.

The Recent Explorer menu provides these actions:

• Hide/Show case instances — Conceal or display cases.
• Hide/Show record details — Conceal or display records' RuleSets, and the Checked out labels.

Filter the Explorer contents by entering text in the Search box at the top of the Explorer. Search is based on any text displayed in the Explorer.

You can also access the Recent Explorer from the Designer Studio header.

Use the Explorer to navigate among items if you choose not to display tabs in the Designer Studio work area. Use the Include Tabs checkbox in the Preferences dialog to show or hide tabs.
