Defining the outcome field for scoring and extended scoring models

The outcome field represents the behavior that you want to predict in the model.

Note: The extended scoring model is available when you select the Entitled to use outcome inferencing check box in the Predictive Analytics Director Settings landing page.

  1. In the Outcome Definition step, from the Model type drop-down list select the type of scoring model that you want to create (SCORING or EXTENDED_SCORING).

  2. For the extended scoring model, select the Entitled to use outcome inferencing check box in the Predictive Analytics Director Settings landing page.

  3. Select an outcome field. The list contains only symbolic fields.

If you select the <Virtual Field> option, PAD opens the virtual field editor and you need to define a formula or use an existing one for the outcome field.

  4. Optional: For the extended scoring model, select the Use Decision field check box if a field codes that indicate whether cases in the sample were accepted or rejected when processed.

  5. Map each symbol to the category that it belongs to by using the arrows.

  6. Click Apply to assign the symbols to the behavior data.

  7. Optional: From the Dataset drop-down list, select a data set to see the distribution of cases in the Graphical view tab or Data view tab.

  8. Optional: If you select the Use decision field check box for the extended scoring model, define previous decision.
