Defining the outcome field for spectrum models

The outcome field represents the behavior that you want to predict in the model.

  1. In the Outcome Definition step, from the Model type drop-down list, select SPECTRUM model.

  2. Select an outcome field. The list contains only numeric fields.

If you select the <Virtual Field> option, PAD opens the virtual field editor and you need to define or use an existing formula for the outcome field.

  3. In the Spectrum Bounds section, define the maximum and minimum range values. The values above the maximum are combined with this maximum value while the values below the minimum are combined with this minimum value.

  4. Optional: In the Special values section, click Add special value to add values that are not part of the numeric range of values. Typically, special values represent error codes.

  5. Click Apply to map the bounds for the behavior data. In the case of <Virtual Field>, click Refresh, and then click Apply.

  6. Optional: From the Dataset drop-down list, select a data set to compare the outcome in the Graphical view tab or Data view tab.
