You can perform a private checkout of a rule that is unavailable for you to regularly check out, for example, if another user has checked out the rule.
Use a private check out to test changes in the rule form. You should not check in a rule that you privately checked out to avoid conflicts. For example, you might overwrite a rule that another user has checked in.
You can also check out the rule to a branch so that you can modify the rule and then check it in to the branch. For more information, see Checking out a rule to a branch.
Click Private edit.
In the dialog box that appears, click Continue with private edit to confirm that you want to perform a private checkout.
The system saves a copy of the rule in your personal ruleset and then checks the rule out of your ruleset. Only you can see rules in your personal ruleset. Another user can concurrently check out the that you are privately editing if it resides in an unlocked ruleset version.
Modify the rule as appropriate.
Click Save. Your changes are saved into the checked-out version and are visible only to you. When you run rules in your application, they resolve to your checked-out version.
