Adding an application type to the New Application wizard

You can specify any application as an application type that you can use in the New Application wizard. When an application is used as an application type, the new application that you create is built on that application.

When you initially specify an application as an application type, the application type uses the default wizard configuration. The default wizard configuration provides steps for users to select the case types and data types to include in the application as well as the color scheme and primary device.

1. In the Designer Studio header, click the name of your current application, and click Open Application.
2. On the Application wizard tab, select the Show application in the New Application wizard check box.
3. In the Short description field, enter a brief description about the application type. This description is displayed on the initial page of the New Application wizard, where users select an application type.
4. In the Application description field, enter a detailed description about the application type. This description is displayed after a user selects the application type and helps the user decide whether to proceed with using that application type.
5. Optional: Upload an image that identifies the application type in the wizard. You can upload different images for desktop and mobile devices. Desktop images must be at least 370 pixels by 233 pixels. Mobile images must be at least 110 pixels by 194 pixels. Default images are available.
6. Click Save.
