Optional: Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker
Before you update to a new minor version of Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services, optionally run the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker to check the update impact for a specific Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services version. By running the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker, you can access a report with all deprecated, withdrawn, final, and customized rules. For each instance, the report includes an analysis whether any of the rules are used in the implementation layer, and recommends actions to take to prepare for the update.
Importing the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker
Download the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker, and then import the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker ruleset for your application.
- In a web browser, go to Pega Marketplace .
- In the Search Marketplace field, enter

- Download the
.zip
file for the version to which you are updating, and then extract the contents. - In the header of Dev Studio, click .
- Browse to the
.jar
file for the application, select the file, and then follow the wizard instructions. - In the header of Dev Studio, click the name of the application, and then click Definition.
- On the Application page, in the Application
rulesets section, add the
SAUpgradeChecker:08-0x ruleset,
where x indicates the version to which you are
updating.
- Click Save.
Running the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker
Run the Pega Sales Automation Upgrade Checker to identify and resolve withdrawn, deprecated, final, and customized rules.
- In the header of Dev Studio, click .In case of an update from a 7.x environment, click the Designer Studio button instead of Configure.
- In the Product list, select your application that is implemented on Pega Sales Automation for Financial Services.
- In the Upgrade to list, select the version that you want to check.
- Click Prepare Report.
- Export the reports and additional information:
- To export the reports as a PDF file, select Export Summary.
- To export the list of customized and referenced rules in the implementation layer, select Export Implementation Impact.
- To export withdrawn, deprecated, final, and additional customized rules as an Excel file, select Export Product Rule changes.
- Optional: To regenerate the report data, select the Regenerate custom
overrides check box, and then click Prepare
Report.After you click Regenerate custom overrides, the length of the background process depends on the number of rules in the implementation layer.
