Updating your built-on application

Change the built-on application for your application definition if required.

Pega CRM for Communications 8.6 Feature Adoption for Pega Cloud
Important: For Pega Customer Service, run the Upgrade Checker tool before you update your built-on application.
Note:
  • For Pega Cloud updates from 7.x to 8.6, this procedure is required before you can use your application.
  • For Pega Cloud updates from 8.x to 8.6, this procedure is required if you want to use the latest Pega Customer Service features.
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click the name of the application, and then click Definition.
  2. In the Built on applications section, change the values in the Name and Version fields to the name and version of the built-on application that you want to use. If the name is unchanged, change the version information only.

    Update to Pega Customer Service for Communications 8.6

    Select CustomerServiceForComms 8 or CustomerServiceForComms 8.6.

    To use the latest features in release 8.6, you must select the 8.6 built-on application. Always choose the built-on application for release 8.6, unless your existing application requires rules that are deprecated or withdrawn in the latest release.

  3. Click Save.
