MedDRA Upgrade activities in Pega Pharmacovigilance
MedDRA is an international dictionary of medical terminology that is used in the life sciences industry.
The MedDRA Upgrade case type is a three-step utility that enables you to automatically update cases with the latest version of MedDRA. The following activities are used in the MedDRA Upgrade case type:
- FetchCasesForMedDRAUpgrade – Uses Elasticsearch to fetch a list of cases that are eligible for update, for example, open cases with outdated MedDRA values.
- FetchCasesForMedDRAUpgradeExcludeCriteria – Manages exclusions in the case search criteria.
- FetchCasesForFirstMedDRAUpgrade – Fetches cases that were never updated.
- PostFetchCasesForMedDRAUpgrade – Updates the cases, adds entries in the audit trail, and generates the lists of cases in the final step of the MedDRA Upgrade case.
Additionally, the FetchCasesForMedDRAUpgrade report definition fetches cases that match the search criteria.
For information about configuring the MedDRA terminology updates, see the Implementation Guide on the Pega Pharmacovigilance page.
