About Flow rules

Create a new flow rule by selecting Flow from the Process category.

A flow rule has two key parts:

Field

Description

Applies To

For a starter flow rule, SmartPrompt select or enter a class that derives from the Work- base class.

For a flow rule that is to be started from a Flow shape (Flow) Split-ForEach shape (Split for Each), or a spin-off shape (Split/Join shape), you can SmartPromptselect or enter a class derived from the Data- or Embed- class.

The classes you can enter here may depend on the RuleSet you select. On the Restrictions tab of the Class form, a class rule may limit rules applying to that class to those that belong to one of an explicit list of RuleSets. C-356

Optionally, for special cases, you can select a template rule to provide a starting set of shapes and capabilities for the new flow rule.BUG-4014

To review or change this default stencil, select Preferences item from the Designer Studio profile menu. Review the Stencil field in the Edit preferences group.
