Optional: Importing the sample data

Updated on September 27, 2021

The Pega Customer Relationship Management for Insurance distribution media includes sample data to help you explore the application capabilities. The sample data includes disabled sample operators that you can enable to learn about the workspaces for each operator role. Importing the sample data is optional, and the sample data that is provided might not align with your business needs.

Note: The sample application and rulesets are installed when you install the application, but you import the sample data separately.
Before you begin:

Ensure that you have already imported the Pega Customer Relationship Management for Insurance application file. For more information, see Importing the application file.

Ensure that you have already imported the following sample data files, in the sequence shown, as described in the installation guides:

  • Pega Foundation for Insurance sample data file - SampleData\PFI_SampleData.jar.

For information about installing this file, see the Pega Foundation for Insurance Installation Guide on the Pega Foundation for Insurance product page.

  • Pega Customer Relationship Management DDL sample data file - SampleDB\PegaCRMSample_DDL.jar.

For information about installing this file, see the Pega Customer Service and Pega Sales Automation Installation Guide on the Pega Customer Service product page.

Note: The PegaCRMSample_DML.jar and the KMSampleData.jar files included with Pega Customer Relationship Management are unnecessary, because Pega Customer Relationship Management for Insurance has its own version of these files. However, these files cause no harm if installed and will result in a few additional sample data entries.
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureApplicationDistributionImport.
  2. Browse to select the file or files to import. Import the following file or files, in the sequence shown.
    • SampleDB\PegaCRMI_Sample.jar
  3. Follow the wizard instructions to import the sample data.
What to do next:

Enable the sample operators that you will use to explore the different workspaces. For more information, see Optional: Enabling sample operator accounts.
