Completing pre-update tasks for Pega Marketing or Pega Customer Decision Hub 7.4 and earlier running on Pega Cloud
This content applies only to Pega Cloud environments
Before Pega Cloud services updates your Pega Marketing or Pega Customer Decision Hub application from version 7.4 or earlier to the latest version,
complete the following pre-update tasks:
- Apply the required hotfix. See Applying the update hotfix
- Run the pre-update activity. See Running the pre-update activity
- Install the Pre-Update Check component and check your application's readiness for an update. See Pre-Update Check for Pega Customer Decision Hub.

Applying the update hotfix
Review the information in the table and apply the required update hotfix for your current
version of Pega Marketing or Pega Customer Decision Hub.

Running the pre-update activity
After you apply the pre-update hotfix, run the activity which it contains. The pre-update
activity makes changes to Pega Marketing and Pega Customer Decision Hub artifacts
created in versions older than 7.4. The changes are required in order to prepare the
application for an update to version 8.3 or later.
