Optional: Enabling sample operator accounts

Updated on October 6, 2020

To use the sample application that you installed, enable the sample operator accounts that are included with the sample data.

Before you begin:

If you loaded sample data bundle during the Pega Field Service installation process, the New Application Wizard creates a set of out-of-the-box operators. For security purposes, these operators are disabled. Before you can log in and use the access rights of any operator in your new application, you must enable that operator.

If you did not load sample data bundle, you do not have out-of-the-box operators. You need to create your new operators.

Note: If you loaded sample data bundle during the Pega Field Service installation process, you can reuse all the data instances from the loaded sample data such as service territories, customer accounts, and field workers. If you need to use the out-of-the-box sample operators that are loaded with the sample data jar in the implementation application, set the relevant implementation access group in the operator record.
  1. Log in as the administrator operator with the password that you specified for the Pega Field Service application that you are implementing.

  2. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureOrg & SecurityAuthenticationOperator Access

This page lists all currently disabled operator accounts.

  3. In the Disabled operators section, click the link for the out-of-the-box sample operator that you want to enable.

  4. Optional:

On the Profile tab, complete the displayed fields in the Contact Information section.

  5. On the Security tab, perform the following tasks:

    1. Select the Force password change on next login check box.

    2. Clear the Disable Operator check box.

    3. Click Update password to enter a password and click Submit.

  6. Click Save to enable the operator record and the new password, and then close the page.

  7. On the Organization and Security: Operator access page, repeat steps 2 through 7 for each operator that you want to enable.

For more information on operators, see Operators.
