Importing the legacy Pre-Upgrade Checker (7.4, 8.1, 8.2)

Note: This procedure does not apply to industry versions of the application.

If updating from version 7.4, 8.1, or 8.2 of the Pega Customer Service base application, your application does not include the Pega Customer Service Upgrade Checker. You must download and import this tool before you update. In these versions, the tool is called the Pre-Upgrade Checker.

  1. Use My Support Portal to create a support request with Global Customer Support (GCS), and request SR-46606 for the Pre-Upgrade utility.
  2. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureApplicationDistributionImport.
    Note: In version 8.2 and earlier, the Pega Customer Service Upgrade Checker only checks rules in the base application and not in the industry application. Perform this action from the base application, and not from the industry application.
  3. Click Choose File and browse for the HFIX-46606_7.4.jar file from your local folder, click Next, and follow the wizard instructions.
  4. On the Application page, in the Application rulesets section, add the RuleOverrides:07-40 ruleset.
  5. Click Save.
