Creating a product inquiry

Updated on January 27, 2021

Use the Product inquiry case type to populate information about your products and parts and review that information on a single screen.

To create a product inquiry about a part or a product, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into Pega® Warranty as a dealer. For more information on login credentials, see Operators list and description.
  2. Click +New > Product inquiry.
  3. Enter a serial number. You can also scan the product's serial number or VIN barcode using the mobile feature.
  4. Click Submit to populate the data.
  5. Review the warranty details and repair information sections and click Submit.

To create a product inquiry about a vehicle, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into PegaWarranty as an auto dealer using the WarAutoDealer operator ID.
  2. Click +New > Vehicle Inquiry.
  3. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) and odometer value.
  4. Click Submit to populate the data.
  5. Review the warranty details, field service action, repair information, and previous claims sections and then click Submit.

The Pega Warranty application displays inquiry case information on a single screen by default. You can, however, perform the following steps to configure the system to display this information on multiple screens:

  1. Log into PegaWarranty as a system administrator using the WarSysAdmin operator ID.
  2. In the header of Dev Studio, click Configure > Manufacturing Settings > Inquiry Settings.
  3. Set the Dynamic System Setting for Inquiry single screen option to False.
  4. Click Update DSS to confirm the changes.
