GIFs

Use GIFs to provide examples for complicated steps, to illustrate tutorials, or to present features in What's New articles.

Do not add more than two GIFs in a single topic or article, because they might be distracting.
Note: Do not rely only on GIFs or other visual media to document a procedure.

When you prepare GIFs, use the following settings:

  • Length: maximum 30 seconds
  • Frame rate: 30 frames per second
  • Dithering: no
  • Looping: yes
  • Fade to black: yes
Note: In PDF files, GIFs are published as a static image showing only the first frame of the original animation.
