Parentheses
There are four kinds of bracket: round, curly, angle, and square. Parentheses are
what we properly call round brackets
.
Place punctuation outside the parentheses when the parenthetical text is not a complete, stand-alone sentence, for example:
- At times, you might need to create several properties, all with the same Applies To class (and ruleset version).
- If you make a mistake (for example, a typographical error), you can correct it easily.
When parentheses enclose a separate, complete sentence, place the punctuation inside the parentheses:
- You might need to create several properties, all with the same Applies To class. (The same guideline applies to the ruleset version.)
