Transferring training data to another IVA

When you generate training data for Pega Intelligent Virtual Assistant™ (IVA) that results in greater accuracy of topic and entity detection, you can reuse the information by transferring the training data to another IVA. Copying training data from one environment to another results in a quicker development of artificial intelligence of another chatbot making the system easier to build since you do not have to create the text analytics model from scratch.

For example, you can copy accumulated training data from a production environment for a chatbot to a development or a QA environment of another chatbot. Before you can begin transferring data, you first start recording training data in the IVA.
Before you begin:

Copying training data from one IVA environment to another involves first creating training data in a production environment, and then exporting the training data to a file. Next, you edit the IVA in a development or QA environment, and then import the saved training data from the file. You can export either only reviewed training data for an IVA, or all of the training data. The training data that you export includes entities that the system added to the text analyzer, but did not build in the model.

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Channels.
  2. Save training data from a chatbot:
    1. In the Current channel interfaces section, click the icon that represents your existing Unified Messaging channel, for example, in a production environment.
    2. In the channel, click the Training data tab.
    3. Click the More icon above the list of training records, and then click Export data.
      Note: You can export data only if the IVA contains at least one training record.
    4. In the Export data window, select one of the following options:
      • To export only the reviewed data, click Reviewed only.
      • To export all data for the model, click Reviewed and unreviewed.
      For example: You can choose to export only reviewed training data that is already verified by an IVA developer.
    5. Click Export.
    6. Click Download and save the training data as a .zip file.
  3. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Channels.
  4. Reuse training data in another chatbot:
    1. In the Current channel interfaces section, click the icon that represents your existing Unified Messaging channel, for example, in a development or a QA environment.
    2. In the channel, click the Training data tab.
    3. Click the More icon above the list of training records, and then click Import data.
    4. In the Import data window, click Choose file, and then select the .zip file that contains the exported training data.
    5. Click Import.
