Pega Warranty cost reports

Updated on December 31, 2019

Cost reports present transaction details and other cost-related business operations data provided by the Pega® Warranty application. In the service industry, warranties are crucial elements because they are often a starting point for many services. As a manufacturer, a dealer, or a supplier, use the cost reports to review a set of standard Warranty key performance indicator (KPI) data on different chart types in the manufacturer, dealer, or supplier portals.

The Cost reports category includes the following reports:

Chargeback amount related reports

These reports provide the following information:

  • The total chargeback amount that a dealer pays to a manufacturer filtered by month or a region.
  • The chargeback amount by product hierarchy and the chargeback amount versus supplier recovery amount by month.
  • As a dealer, you can review the cost that was incurred due to faulty parts or products over the year for each defined region.

For example, if a supplier or a dealer is responsible for the product failure, then the manufacturer recovers their cost. This recovered cost is called a chargeback amount. The chargeback amount reports show you how much a dealer pays to a manufacturer.

Supplier claim amount versus paid amount by month report

This report shows the monthly supplier claim amount that is entered in the Supplier claim case and the collected data for the total supplier recovery amount.

As a supplier, review the yearly supplier claims versus paid amount data.

Target versus actual claim warranty cost report

This report shows the data for the target and the actual warranty cost for a given period of time. It is the comparison between the actual and incurred warranty costs over the period of time.

Total repair cost related reports

This report shows a set of standard industry repair cost data for up to 10 customer concern codes.

An example business scenario: a dealer creates a Repair order case for the product with one or more customer problems. Afterwards, a dealer or a repair technician assigns a customer concern code, a total cost with customer concern codes, and a total cost that incurred due to product repairs. The product repair is presented as structured data for the specified period of time.

Total warranty cost reports

These reports provide the following information:

  • The historical data for the total warranty cost that incurred through warranty services.
  • The total warranty cost by month, warranty cost by month by region, average warranty cost by month, average warranty cost by month by region, total warranty cost by bill of materials (BOM) by serial number, and the total warranty cost by product hierarchy.
  • As a manufacturer, you can review a set of warranty-specific key performance indicator (KPI) data presented on your dashboard.
  • As a manufacturer, you can review multiple business transactions linked to a warranty, such as buying, selling, and servicing products.

For example, after a dealer creates a Repair order case for the product that is under an active warranty, Pega Warranty generates a Warranty claim case to recover the total repair cost from the manufacturer. The manufacturer evaluates the claim and pays the required amount to the dealer. This cost is called a total warranty cost for the manufacturer.

Total warranty cost by cost category report

This report shows the total warranty cost by each cost type, such as: part, labor, and miscellaneous cost. For example, after a dealer creates a Repair order case for the product that is under an active warranty, Pega Warranty generates a Warranty claim case to recover the total repair cost from the manufacturer. The total repair cost contains part, labor, and miscellaneous costs for each repair line. The manufacturer evaluates the claim and pays the required amount to the dealer. The mentioned cost is called a total warranty cost for the manufacturer.

Total warranty cost by customer concern code report

This report provides the following information:

  • The total warranty cost that incurred for each customer concern code.
  • As a manufacturer, you can analyze the data and determine which customer concern code occurs most frequently and generates the most cost over the years.

For example, after a dealer creates a Repair order case for the product that is under an active warranty, Pega Warranty generates a Warranty claim case with the particular customer concern code to recover the total repair cost from the manufacturer.

Total warranty cost by dealers report

This report provides the following information:

  • The monthly data filtered by selected dealers.
  • The total warranty costs that incurred through warranty services that a dealer paid to the manufacturer.
  • As a manufacturer, you can see the total warranty cost by each dealer for the particular year and compare this data with the incurred cost for different dealers.

For example, after multiple dealers create repair orders for the products that are under an active warranty, Pega Warranty generates a Warranty claim case. A dealer recovers the total repair cost from the manufacturer.

Total warranty cost versus total recovery amount by month report

This report shows the monthly total warranty cost together with the total recovery amount, including the dealer chargeback amount and the supplier recovery amount. For example, if the supplier or dealer is responsible for the incurred product failure, then the manufacturer recovers their cost. The cost recovered from the dealer is called a chargeback amount. The cost recovered from the supplier is called a supplier recovery amount.
