Offering a work order to a contractor in the Pega Field Service Dispatcher portal

Updated on March 16, 2021

As a dispatcher, you can offer a work order, which is neither in-progress nor resolved, to a third-party field worker in an external service territory when you cannot find an internal field worker. You can perform this task, if the service territory is marked as External by your business administrator. For more information, see Creating a service territory in the Pega Field Service Admin portal.

Before you begin: Create a work order. For more information, see Creating a standalone work order in the Pega Field Service Dispatcher portal.
  1. In the Pega Field Service Dispatcher portal, to open the work order that you want to modify, perform any of the following actions:

    • Click a work order on the timeline.
    • Click a work order pin on the map.
    • Click on a work order within a job.
  2. On the work order page, click Actions.

  3. Click Offer.

  4. In the Complete by date and time, define the completion date and time by when the work order is expected to be completed.

  5. Select the desired third-party field worker.

The field worker must self-schedule and complete the work order within the time and date defined here.
  6. Click Offer.

Result: The work order status changes to Exception-Offered.
