Styling a layout
Customize the appearance of your interface by attaching style formats to layouts. Layout style formats contain settings that define the look of section elements such as borders, backgrounds, and text. By using out-of-the-box or custom style formats throughout your application, you can create a consistent user interface with less effort.
- In the navigation pane of Dev Studio, click Records.
- Expand the User Interface category, and then click Section.
- Open the section whose layout you want to edit.
- Attach the style format to the layout:
Choices Actions Templated section - On the Design tab, in the configuration pane on the right side of the window, hover over the region that you want to style, and then click Edit region.
- Select Override default region settings.
- In the Container format field, select Other.
- In the field that appears, select the style format for the region.
- Click Submit.
- If you want to style another region in the template, repeat steps 4.a to 4.e for that region.
Non-templated section - On the Design tab, click the section that you want to style, and then click the View properties icon.
- In the Layout format list, select the format that you want to apply to the section.
- If you want to use a format that is not on the list, select Other, and then select the format for the section.
- Click Submit.
- Click Save.
