Scenario planning results

The Scenario Planner landing page shows a number of useful key performance indicators (KPIs), including audience simulation counts and projected reach, projected accepts based on adaptive models, projected value capture, as well as historical accepts, sends, and impressions.

Depending on the selected filters, the Scenario Planner view can display the results for a specific channel. You can easily navigate down the hierarchy by clicking on the specific issue, group or action in the details table. The breadcrumbs functionality allows you to conveniently move backwards within the business structure.

Projected value capture

The Projected value capture tile from the Scenario Planner results screen shows the estimated value that the upcoming next best actions (outbound runs and inbound impressions) will bring with the currently selected configuration.

When you run a single simulation, the Projected value capture tile displays a bar. The blue part of the bar represents the projected value captured from all of the engagement policies and levers that you configure in Next-Best-Action Designer.

The black triangle and the gray part of the bar represent the opportunity cost of the levers that you apply, that is, the benefit that would have been derived by not choosing an option. If you do not see a gray part, this means that with the applied levers you are gaining the opportunity. The bar is not displayed when comparing two scenarios, as in the following figure:

The Responses tile shows the number of accepted actions versus the aggregate number of outbound sends and inbound impressions over a certain period of time, as in the following figure:


By clicking the Open icon in the upper right corner of the Responses tile, you can change the time frame for the historical data from the last 30 days to the last 60, 90, 180, or 365 days. You can also aggregate data, from the last full quarter up to a full year.

The Projected responses tile shows the aggregate number of sends or impressions with the projected accepts that the upcoming next-best-actions (outbound run and inbound impressions) will bring with the currently selected configuration, as in the following figure:

Details table

The Details table shows results by selected simulation, issue, group, action, and channel. Click on an issue or group in the table to easily drill down to the details of a specific action or treatment, or see a broad comparison across the whole issue or group.

Comparison simulation

To compare two simulations, you first choose one simulation from the Simulation list in Scenario Planner. In the Comparison simulation list, the first simulation in the list (assuming that you enabled the second-pass run) will then be your current simulation, but without any levers.

The tiles and table show the deltas, that is, the differences between the results of the two simulations. The deltas are indicated by arrows and color-coding.

You can click on any issue to drill down to the next level of your simulation. You can also switch between the tabs, to see the results from the perspective of one or the other simulation. The following figure shows a simulation results in Scenario Planner:

Note: Currently, Scenario Planner does not support simulations in which more than one action or placement is requested for one customer (primary context). Scenario Planner will count only the top action for each customer in projected KPIs for simulations with requests for multiple actions.

Important: For more information on how to configure the two simulations to run in parallel: one based on your Next-Best-Action Designer configuration with levers, and one based on your Next-Best-Action Designer configuration without any levers, see Viewing outcomes in Scenario Planner. The two simulations will run in order to display the opportunity cost that is associated when applying the levers.
